This year's Goodwood Festival of Speed (4 to 7 July) is all about the Toyota GR Supra: the sports car icon's new version returns to the place where it celebrated its world premiere last year. In various versions, the model athlete will present not only on the grounds of the Motorsport meeting in the south of England, but also in the drift and on the legendary mountain route.

At the traditional Hillclimb, the new GR Supra GT4 Concept debuts: Mike Conway, long-distance pilot from Toyota Gazoo Racing, steering the fast prototype, which celebrated its world premiere at this year's Geneva Motor Show. The race car gives an outlook on an affordable car for (customer) racing use in the GT4 series.

But even the regular road version must not be missing in Goodwood: After last year was still a Toyota GR Supra with "A90" -arnbeklebung on the way, now shows the production model, which rolls this year to the first customer in Europe. Once again, the helm Tetsuya Tada - the sports car genius that ushered in the renaissance of the legendary Supra and also created the Toyota GT86 sports coupe - takes over once more.

Another side of the new sports car is the Toyota GR Supra Drift from HKS, which will be presented for the first time in the Live Action Arena: Developed by the specialist HKS, the Japanese drift star Nobuteru Taniguchi takes the wheel and neatly boosts the vehicle, which has been strengthened to 700 HP override. Special features include a HKS GTIII4R turbo system, an HKS Hipermax suspension, Endless F: Racing brakes and Yokohama Advan wheels and tires.

Icons from motorsport

In addition to the Toyota GR Supra, the Japanese carmaker presents numerous motorsport icons: with the Toyota TS050 Hybrid # 8, for example, Sébastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima and Fernando Alonso were able to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans recently. The endurance classic was part of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), which Toyota Gazoo Racing won in the drivers 'and manufacturers' standings.

Other winners at the Goodwood House site include the Hilux, which won the Toyota Gazoo Racing South Africa Rally Dakar 2019, and a replica of the Yaris WRC. The rally car has already recorded three successes in the current season of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC).

Also on display is the GR Supra VLN Edition, which celebrated its motorsport debut at this year's 24-hour race at the Nürburgring - driven by a crew that included Toyota President Akio Toyoda. The vehicle is shown with the accumulated body damage to illustrate the harsh conditions on the world's most demanding race track.

From motorsport to the road is not just for the GR Supra. The Yaris GRMN and the Corolla GR Sport presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2019 are also examples of how the racing experience of Toyota Gazoo Racing leads to everyday models.

The show is complemented by a number of other historic, privately-registered Toyota models including some of the biggest Celica rally cars of the 1980s and 1990s, the AE86 Corolla Rally Coupe and the Toyota TF108 Formula 1 racing car of 2008.
